The short version
Your data belongs to you. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone who is not helping us run Garten for you, and we do not use it to train AI models.
What we collect
When you work with Garten we collect your email address and the business information you give us: company name, service area, the services you offer and your prices. We store the photos and videos you send us so we can edit them into posts, and the leads that come in through your website (the name, phone number and message a homeowner types into your form) so we can send them to you. We collect basic usage data such as which pages are visited. We do not collect payment card numbers. Payments are processed by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.
Facebook and Instagram
If you connect your Facebook Page and Instagram business account to Garten, we store your Page ID and name, the ID of the Instagram account linked to it, and a Page access token, which we keep encrypted. We use them for two things only: to publish the videos you and Garten have approved to your Page and Instagram, and to read the views and engagement on the posts on your Page and Instagram so we can show you which ones brought in work. We never publish anything that has not been approved, we do not read your messages, and we do not use your Facebook or Instagram data for advertising or share it with anyone.
TikTok and YouTube
If you connect your TikTok account to Garten, we store your TikTok account ID, display name and username, a refresh token that we keep encrypted, and your follower and video counts. If you connect your YouTube channel, we store your channel ID and name, a refresh token that we keep encrypted, and your subscriber count. We use them to publish the videos you and Garten have approved to your TikTok and YouTube, with the privacy and interaction settings chosen for each video, and to show you how your accounts are growing. We never post anything that has not been approved, we do not read your messages or other people's content, and we do not use your TikTok or YouTube data for advertising or share it with anyone.
Gmail
If you connect your Gmail account to Garten, we ask Google for one permission: to send email on your behalf. We use it for one thing only, to send the quotes, invoices, reminders and service agreements you create in Garten to your customers from your own email address. We do not read, search, store or delete anything in your mailbox. We store your connected email address and a refresh token, which we keep encrypted, so we can send when you ask us to. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, we do not sell it or share it, and we do not use it to train AI models. Garten's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. To disconnect, press Disconnect in Settings, then Send from your email, or open your Google Account, then Security, then Third-party connections, and remove Garten. Either revokes our access immediately, and disconnecting inside Garten deletes the stored token.
How we store your data
Account and business data is stored in Supabase and Google Firebase, and files are stored in Google Cloud Storage. Access is limited to your own account, and connection tokens are encrypted before they are saved.
Who can see your data
You can see your data when you are logged in. The Garten team works with it to build your site, edit your videos and deliver your leads, and does nothing else with it. We never share your business information or your customers' details with other businesses.
Data deletion
To delete your data, email hello@gartenhq.com with the subject "Delete my data" from the email on your account. We delete your account data, your files, your Gmail connection and any Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube data we hold (account and Page IDs, names, tokens and post metrics) within 30 days and email you when it is done. To disconnect at any time without emailing us: for Facebook and Instagram, open Facebook Settings, then Business Integrations, and remove Garten. For TikTok, open TikTok Settings and privacy, then Security and permissions, then Manage app permissions, and remove Garten. For YouTube, open your Google Account, then Security, then Third-party connections, and remove Garten. Each revokes our access immediately. To also have the IDs and metrics we stored removed, email us as above.
Third party services
Garten uses Supabase and Google Firebase for data and sign in, Google Cloud Storage for files, Vercel for hosting, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, ClickSend for text messages, Meta for publishing to and reading from your Facebook Page and Instagram, TikTok for publishing to your TikTok account, YouTube for publishing to your channel, Cloudinary for processing the videos we publish, Google for your Business Profile and search data and for sending from your Gmail when you connect it, Anthropic for AI features, and ElevenLabs for video narration. Each has its own privacy policy. Text messages are also covered by our SMS terms.
